Anti-Saloon League.
"The Anti-Saloon League from 1893 to 1933 was a major force in American politics. Influencing the United States through the printed word and lobbying, they turned a moral crusade into a Constitutional amendment. Moved from the Treasury Department to the Justice Department following passage of the Homeland Security Act, "the ATF will continue to perform the law enforcement functions relating to firearms, explosives, and arson. It will also administer the U.S. Criminal Code provisions concerning alcohol and tobacco smuggling and diversion."
 
COGA: Collaborative Study on the Genetics of Alcoholism.

College Alcohol Study.
"The Harvard School of Public Health College Alcohol Study (CAS) is an ongoing survey of over 15,000 students at 140 four-year colleges in 40 states. The CAS examines key issues in college alcohol abuse, including the tradition of heavy drinking on college campuses, the role of fraternities and sororities and athletics, the relationship of state alcohol control measures and college policies to this behavior, and the role that easy access to alcohol and low prices play."
College Drinking: Changing the Culture.
"In response to the increasingly complex issue of alcohol abuse among college students, the National Advisory Council on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism created the Task Force on College Drinking in 1998." The goals of the Task Force include providing "research-based information about the nature and extent of dangerous drinking to high school and college administrators, students, parents, community leaders, policymakers, researchers, and members of the retail beverage industry."
 
Fetal Alcohol and Drug Unit, University of Washington.

The Higher Education Center for Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse and Violence Prevention.
Run by the U.S. Department of Education, this site contains statistics and surveys on alcohol abuse on American college campuses, resources for alcohol-abuse counselors, and links to other sites. Includes publications on topics such as binge drinking and alcohol and acquaintance rape.
 
Historical Resources on Alcohol Use in America.
"A growing number of organizations and institutions are providing Internet access to their historical materials on alcohol/drug use in America. [This] is a selected list of historical resources on the Web, some of which offer full-text documents and digitized images, while others provide access to bibliographic records through library catalogs and online databases. National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA).
One of the National Institutes of Health, NIAAA supports and conducts biomedical and behavioral research on the causes, consequences, treatment and prevention of alcoholism and alcohol-related problems.
