Admissions

Application Deadlines:

Spring Semester: October 31 (Originally September 15)
Fall Semester: March 15

For Spring 2010, the application deadline has been extended to October 31, 2009.

Given visa restrictions, US applicants for the spring semester are strongly advised to apply by September 15. Applicants who are non-US citizens are urged to apply before September 15, and should note that obtaining visas may not be possible for applications received after this date, especially for those from non-Commonwealth countries. Non-US citizens must contact Boston University International Programs prior to submitting an application, at 617-353-9888 or abroad@bu.edu.

Although we will continue to accept applications up to October 15 or until the programs are full, preference will be given to qualified candidates who submit their applications on or before September 15.

Admissions Calendar:

Review of applications will begin according to the following timetable.

Requirements:

• • Minimum 3.0 GPA (in major and overall)
• • All students must complete the full 16-credit program, enrolling in three academic courses and one internship course

Program Fee

2009/2010 Program Cost: $16,550

The following are included in the program fee:

• • Tuition
• • Internship placement
• • Housing
• • Field trips
• • Emergency travel assistance coverage

Additional expenses to consider.

The cost for 2010/2011 has not yet been announced and will be subject to approval by the Board of Trustees at Boston University.

Boston Staff

All Boston University Sydney programs are administered in coordination with our Boston and Sydney offices. In Boston, a program manager manages the admissions and orientation procedures, and maintains contact with students prior to their arrival in Sydney. The Boston Office also houses administrative personnel who are responsible for everyday operations. In Sydney, the staff comprises a resident director, administrative, academic and housing personnel.
