Summer Shanghai Intensive Chinese Language Program

The Shanghai Intensive Language Program at Shanghai’s Fudan University offers Chinese-language study at the first, second, and third-year levels and provides a comprehensive introduction to China through study of its spoken and written language. Students spend eight weeks living and studying in China's largest and most vibrant city. An undeniably modern city, Shanghai preserves the legacy of its strong colonial past. The core curriculum centers around approximately 16 hours each week of language instruction, emphasizing grammar, oral comprehension, and speaking. Language courses are augmented by a rich mixture of excursions and visits to local sites. Upon successful completion of the program, students earn eight Boston University credits.
