Housing

Boston University arranges accommodations with French host families. All students are provided with accommodations in French households throughout the city. Households chosen to participate in the program represent a wide range of incomes and situations, from an elderly woman living alone to a couple living in the city to a suburban family with several young children.

For many students, living in a French household and commuting to school on the local trams and buses is a significant part of experiencing local life. Students are given a single room, breakfast, and a specified number of evening meals per month in the home. They receive an allowance for local transportation and for any meals not taken with their hosts.
