Admissions

Application Deadlines:

Fall Semester: April 15
Spring Semester: November 15

Admissions Calendar:

Review of applications will begin according to the following timetable.

Admissions Requirements:

  • • Undergraduate degree from BU College of Fine Arts or a conservatory-style acting school.
  • • All students must complete the full 8-credit program, enrolling in one academic course and one internship.

Applicants should submit the following:

  • • General Background Information Form (from the Boston University International Programs Application) or “Personal Information” and “Program Information” from the on-line application at www.bu.edu/abroad/apply
  • • Information Release Form (from the Boston University International Programs Application)
  • • Approval of Student Participation signed by Jim Petosa or Paolo DiFabio (from the Boston University International Programs Application). Graduates of Boston University School of Theatre only.
  • • A one-page essay describing why this experience is right for you at this point in your training/career.  What are some of the qualities you have as a person and as a performer that you think will be most attractive to Hollywood producers and casting agents?
  • • A short VHS or DVD (about 3 minutes) in which you introduce yourself in whatever way you think gives a sense of who you are as a person as well as a performer. You may also include a short monologue or scene, preferably from a film or TV project or one written for those mediums.
If you have one, you may also include a 'reel' of past television and film work.
The quality of the video does not matter, as long as the video and audio are understandable. We are currently unable to receive video files online.
  • • A list of at least two references of teachers or directors who know your work, with current contact info (email/phone numbers preferred)
  • • Photo (does not need to be a professional ‘headshot’)
  • • Resume
  • • Transcript/proof of graduation. Graduates of institutions other than Boston University only.
  • • A letter of recommendation from a theater teacher with whom you have worked.
Applicants who have not graduated from an undergraduate or graduate professional actor-training program only.
  • • $50 non-refundable application fee
