Fall Semester: August 25th to December 14th, 2008
Spring Semester: January 12th to May 3rd, 2009
College-graduated students who have experience
in writing/development for film and television are invited to participate
in the Boston University College of Fine Arts (CFA), and College of Communication
(COM) – The
Writer in Hollywood.
This eight-credit, four-month intensive program has already attracted the participation
of some of Hollywood’s most important professionals such as Nina Tassler,
President of CBS Entertainment; Joe Roth, President of Revolution Studios (named
as one of the “10 most important
people in Hollywood”); Jason Alexander (star of “Seinfeld” as
well as scores of other stage, film and television projects), Jonathan Littman
(President, Jerry Bruckheimer Television), and many others. The program is designed
to be a “bridge to the professional world” of Hollywood that includes:
- Focused class study
- Internships with Hollywood literary agencies, production
and development offices
- Industry professionals speaking to and coaching students on a regular basis
- Supervised collaborative projects with other students in the LA Internship Program
- One-on-one professional review and critiques of student writing
- Showcasing writers and their work to agents, managers, producers and development executives through meetings, mailings and/or
“pitch” opportunities.
- Four credits each for the internship and writing course
