Tadeusz Dąbrowski
Tadeusz Dąbrowski (b. 1979) is a Polish poet, essayist, and critic who edits the literary bimonthly Topos. He is the author of five poetry collections, including this year’s Czarny kwadrat (Black Square). Recipient of scholarships from the Internationales Haus der Autoren Graz (2008), Polish Minister of Culture (2007), Literarisches Colloquium Berlin (2006), and the Baltic Centre for Writers and Translators (Visby, 2004), he has won, among other awards, the Hubert Burda Prize (2008) and, from Tadeusz Różewicz, the Prize of the Foundation for Polish Culture (2006). Dąbrowski’s work has been translated into thirteen languages. In English, his poems have been published in such magazines as Boston Review, Poetry Review, Poetry Ireland, AGNI Online, and Poetry Wales. His first collection to appear in English will soon be released by Zephyr Press. He lives in Gdańsk. (updated 5/2009)
