Privacy is a serious consideration on the Alumni Web and throughout our Office of Development and Alumni Relations. At every step, Boston University attempts to protect the privacy of its alumni, parents and friends.

A few facts that you should be aware of:

• Areas marked "login required" indicate a password-protected area. Before accessing a password-protected area, you will be required to enter your Alumni Link login name and password.
• Boston University alumni and gift records are confidential. The only individuals with access to this information are those with direct job responsibilities related to the information.
• Credit card information transmitted on the Alumni Web is encrypted. It is not accessible to anyone who attempts to intercept your transmissions on the Internet.
• Boston University does not sell or trade alumni mailing lists (including alumni e-mail addresses) with outside corporations or organizations, except for those that have business or contractual relationships with the University (e.g. U.S. Bank who provides the BU affinity credit card).
• Boston University will take all reasonable steps to protect the privacy of Alumni Link users. The Alumni Link subscriber list will not be made available to businesses or other organizers.
• Boston University will send periodic news and information to Alumni Link subscribers through their E-mail Forwarding for Life (EFL) address. This information includes, but is not limited to, the monthly BU Update newsletter.
