Associate Professor of Computer Science and Associate Dean for Student Academic Life
The Associate Dean administers the policies and practices of the undergraduate programs and services in the College of Arts & Sciences. This includes full responsibility for overseeing academic advising in the Taylor Advising Center, in the Pre-professional Advising Center, during Summer Orientation Advising, and for supporting advising activities in the departments; interpreting and implementing College policies and regulations governing students from orientation to graduation, including judgment on petitions for exceptions to policy, periodic review of academic performance, and enforcement of the Academic Conduct Code; supervising the maintenance and processing of student records and forms; providing assistance to programs and events that enhance the recruitment and retention of students or enhance the undergraduate experience; and acting as liaison and advocate in all these issues to other schools and colleges and to the University as a whole.

CAS Records Office

The CAS Records Office is the central repository for all information related to undergraduates in the College. All forms, petitions, advising notes, and records of important conversations between the student and the administration are kept in paper form. The Director of the Records Office oversees all related processes, works with University Information Systems staff to keep the Student Link up-to-date, and manages the work of front desk staff and the two College Officers who monitor the progression of students through the College and review academic records in the senior year to certify students for graduation.
