Students seeking admission to graduate programs other than theory and composition, musicology, or the Doctor of Musical Arts in music education, must present an instrumental or vocal audition.
Applicants to the Master of Music program in music education must present an audition per the requirements of the Master of Music degree in performance. Applicants to the "professional track” in music education are not required to audition.
All applicants must complete an application to Boston University College of Fine Arts before their audition can be confirmed. Audition dates for the 2008–2009 cycle will be available by October 1, 2008.
Applicants may audition in Boston or at one of our regional audition sites. Applicants who live further than 300 miles from an audition site may submit a self-prepared audition.

Students who reside more than 300 miles from an audition location may submit a Self-Prepared Recording* Graduate applicants submitting the self-prepared audition must submit a Recorded Audition Information Form. This interactive PDF document may be typed on and mailed with the recording.
*Applicants to Collaborative Piano programs must audition live in Boston. No recordings or regional auditions will be accepted.
