M.A. | Boston University Graduate School of Arts and Sciences ‘09

B.Arch. | Rice University

B.A. | Rice University

Elizabeth Fomby is currently the office coordinator at Marsh Chapel, Boston University. In her new role at Marsh, she will hopefully keep the office running smoothly and provide all visitors, ministers and staff with their morning caffeine fix.

Elizabeth is in her first year at BU as a graduate student in the art history department. She will (hopefully) be finishing her Masters of Arts degree with a specialization in architectural history in May 2009. Her particular interests involve modern architectural design and theory and urban studies.

In 2007, Elizabeth completed her Bachelors of Architecture at Rice University in Houston, Texas. She completed the professional design degree after participating in the school’s year-long preceptorship program which afforded her the opportunity to work as an architectural designer at Ong & Ong Architects in Singapore.

While an undergraduate at Rice, Elizabeth was actively involved in intramural sports and with a university club called Progressive Christians at Rice, an ecumenical and diverse group of students, faculty, staff, and campus ministers that congregates weekly for worship, study, and community. Serving as PC@R’s president for two years, Elizabeth organized Interfaith Thanks-Giving services, semester discussion series, monthly Bible studies with other Houston colleges, and weekly meetings and fellowship.

Originally from Dallas, Texas, Elizabeth has remained loyal to her hometown sports teams. Though not yet (or perhaps ever) a Red Sox, Pats, Celtics, or Bruins fan, Elizabeth has found her new home in Boston and with Marsh Chapel.
