Ross PonderRoss Ponder

Ross comes to Marsh Chapel as a second year Master's of Divinity student in BU's School of Theology. Ross arrived at BU from the University of Texas at Austin. While at UT Austin, he studied Classics and Religious Studies.

Here at Marsh, Ross is developing a ministry for upper-division undergraduates (juniors and seniors). Ross will be working closely with August Delbert, who's developing a ministry for lower-division undergraduates (freshmen and sophomores), to help create an enduring community of faith.

Ross is at Marsh because of its rich history. He, raised and confirmed United Methodist, feels connected to the high church feel of Marsh's Sunday services.

Academically, Ross's area of interest is in New Testament and Christian Origins. He loves to study the living text of the Bible, that is, the reception and use of the Christian scriptures throughout their history.

On a more personal level, Ross claims to be a Diaspora Texan, that is, a native of Texas displaced from the motherland. Also, he enjoys running, power-napping, consuming caffeinated beverages, chatting with strangers, and being awesome. Ross might not enjoy but does fail to get enough sleep.
