Professor Wu has taught communication at different universities since 1998. His research focuses on international communication, media effects, and political communication. A recipient of several top faculty paper awards from AEJMC convention, he has won multiple research grants, presented more than 30 conference papers, and published more than 20 refereed articles and book chapters. His co-authored book, Media, Politics, and Asian Americans is published in 2009. He was a head of Mass Communication and Society division and an officer of International Communication division of AEJMC. Currently, he serves on the editorial boards of Mass Communication & Society, Journalism and Communication Monographs, Journal of Global Mass Communication, American Journal of Media Psychology, and Journal of Political Marketing. He teaches research method, communication theory, and persuasion and public opinion at Boston University.
