About Cores For Researchers

Welcome

Welcome to the Core Resources program for the Boston University Medical Center! This site will provide you with information about shared instruments and services available to researchers at the BU medical campus. Some of these are true institutional cores that are supported by the School of Medicine and the Medical Center and are available for a fee-for-service use by all investigators, both within and outside the BUMC institution. Others are supported by specific grants or groups of investigators, and may be available on a collaborative rather than fee-for-service basis. The links will take you to pages about each facility, with information on capabilities, contacts, costs, and scheduling.

Institutional Research Cores are operated by the Provost’s Office of the Medical Campus and Medical Center, by the three schools of Boston University Medical Center, and by Boston Medical Center. Policies, strategic planning, and infrastructure support for the website are provided by the Core Advisory Committee (CAC). The CAC set up the components of the Essential Elements of Institutional Core Resources and Facilities with input from the faculty and the Dean, in accordance with NIH guidelines for shared facilities (Essential Elements of an Institutional Core (.pdf)). The CAC will continue to represent the faculty of Boston University School of Medicine, BUSPH, and BUSDM in an advisory capacity to the Provost on core operations and future core needs. We appreciate any suggestions or comments submitted through our contact link.
