Rehabilitation Research & Training Center

The mission of the training projects of this Rehabilitation Research and Training Center (RRTC) is to increase the use of new knowledge and technology in the areas of recovery and recovery-oriented psychiatric rehabilitation by an increasing number of consumers, family members, practitioners, service providers, researchers, policy makers and others and their organizations in order to better assist people with serious psychiatric disabilities in achieving their goals. The Rehabilitation Research and Training Center (RRTC) for Recovery and Recovery-Oriented Psychiatric Rehabilitation for Persons with Long-Term Mental Illness, 2004-2009 is funded through the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research and the Center for Mental Health Services. Information is also available for the prior 5-year RRTC grant Rehabilitation Research and Training Center on Persons with Long Term Mental Illness, 1999–2004.

 

Latino Initiatives

In recent years, the Center for Psychiatric Rehabilitation at Boston University has conducted several research and training projects in psychiatric rehabilitation in order to address the multicultural needs of Latinos with psychiatric disabilities.

El Centro de Rehabilitación Psiquiátrica se encuentra desarrollando desde 1997, Iniciativas Latinas con el fin de prestar servicios de Rehabilitación a las personas con condiciones psiquiátricas, y a sus familias.

The Center for Psychiatric Rehabilitation has been jointly funded as a Rehabilitation Research and Training Center (RRTC) in mental health by the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR) and the Center for Mental Health Services, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).
