As a dental professional, you recognize the importance of lifelong learning to advance your career and better serve your patients. At Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine, we are committed to furthering this learning process, offering a dynamic and complete selection of postdoctoral education programs.

In 1963, GSDM was founded as the first exclusively postdoctoral dental school. Now, more than 35 years later, we offer comprehensive dental education from the DMD degree to 11 postgraduate degree programs. Most of our specialty training programs offer students the option of coupling a research program (leading to a Master of Science in Dentistry or Doctor of Science in Dentistry) to their clinical training program.

Postdoctoral training at GSDM is unique. Because of our many large and established postdoctoral programs, we offer unmatched opportunities for research and cross-discipline discussion, such as our Combined Grand Rounds course. And as part of Boston Medical Center--a two-hospital academic health center--we treat patients with complex medical issues. Our patient pool is diverse and our partnerships with community health centers give our students the chance to work directly with people in Boston and surrounding communities.

From dental public health to aesthetic dentistry, prosthodontics to pediatric dentistry, our faculty are experts in their fields, and offer the latest in technology and research to advance your career.

At the discretion of the Program Director and/or Department Chair, research students may participate in clinical activities during their research years.
