The mission of the Predoctoral Research Program at Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine is to shape the future of dental medicine and dental education through research; to educate students from diverse backgrounds about the importance of research in dental medicine; and to mentor students to make informed decisions about research career opportunities.
Introducing BUGSDM's Intensive Research Program (IRP)
The Intensive Research Program was established at BUGSDM in 2006 as a branch of its Predoctoral Research Program to provide in-depth research training to dental students. The goal of the Program is to expose dental students to the excitement and rigor of scientific discovery through immersion in research early in the dental curriculum in order to steer them toward careers in oral health research. First year students who are in good academic standing and who participated in research during APEX I rotation are eligible to apply to the Program. Students selected by the Committee participate in the Program during the second APEX rotation exclusive of other activities.
