Anis Rahman

Pakistan


Mr. Anis ur Rahman of Pakistan is a subject specialist in English Language at Government Higher Secondary School in Dir, teaching grades 11 and 12. He has been involved in English language teaching (ELT) since 2002, and worked for five years as the senior English teacher for grades 9 and 10 at Government Centennial Model High School in Dir. He is also involved in tutoring and arranging training programs for prospective teachers at Allama Iqbal Open University in Islamabad.

Along with his employment, Mr. Rahman is very involved in social work activities in his community. He is an active member of the Social Development Organization (SDO), an NGO promoting human rights and the environment.

Mr. Rahman earned his master's degree in English literature from the Post Graduate College in Mardan, and also holds a bachelor's degree in education and a master's degree in political science from the University of Peshawar.

During his Humphrey year, he intends to focus on Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) programs, with special emphasis on teacher training. Upon returning home, he plans to adapt the teacher training program in his region by implementing ideas from the U.S. model and arranging further training programs for English language teachers in Pakistan.
