Health Plan

- If
you or your covered spouse is pregnant (or adopting
a child), contact your medical plan within the first
three months of pregnancy to be sure you receive the
maximum benefits available for maternity care.
- Know
your plan provisions about notifying your plan when
you have a maternity admission to a hospital.
- If
your child will be covered under your Boston University
plans, enroll him or her within 30 days of the date
of birth or adoption.

- Coverage
continues with no change.

Basic
Life Insurance
|
- Review
and update your beneficiary designation(s).

Group
Supplemental Life Insurance Plan
|
- If
your children are between 15 days old and age 19,
they are eligible for coverage in amounts of $5,000
or $10,000 per child.

Travel
Accident Insurance Plan
|
- Review
and update your beneficiary designation(s).

Personal
and Family Accident Insurance Plan
|
- Consider
purchasing or increasing coverage for yourself and/or
your eligible
family members within 30 days of the birth or
adoption of your child.

Supplemental
Retirement and Savings Plan
|
- Consider
joining or increasing your participation in the Supplemental
Retirement and Savings Plan.
|
|
Dependent
Care Reimbursement Account and Health
Care Reimbursement Account
|
- You
may begin or increase your participation for the year
within 30 days of your child’s arrival.

Tuition
Remission Program
|
- Once
you have completed four months of eligible service,
your unmarried dependent children, with certain
age limits, may receive 50% tuition remission
for courses taken at Boston University.
- If
you were hired before January 1, 1995, they may
receive 100% tuition remission for courses taken after
you have completed 16 months of eligible service.
- If
you were hired on or after January 1, 1995, they
may receive 90% tuition remission for courses taken
after you have completed 16 months of eligible service.

- You
are eligible to request enrollment, provided space
is available. (Children must be ages two through six
for the Children’s Center and ages two years and nine
months through age five for the Learning Lab.)

services.
