Cost of the Dental Health Plan

The Boston University Dental Health Plan covers services listed on the chart below. There are two special features of the Plan that you should remember:

  • There are no deductibles for covered services.
  • You do not have to complete claim forms for services provided at the Dental Health Centers.

*The percentage of the cost of a covered service that is paid by the Plan is based on the standard fee schedule established by the Boston University Dental Health Centers. These standard fees are already lower than most fees charged by private dentists. You may obtain a copy of the standard fee schedule by contacting the Benefits Section of the Office of Human Resources.

Remember: If you receive care from an outside dentist, you will be required to pay your dentist for services rendered (based on the fees regularly charged by that office). You then file a Dental Health Plan claim form to get reimbursed for a percentage of the services that are covered by the plan.
