The Society of
Retired Faculty and Staff, in conjunction with the Boston
University Office of Human Resources, sponsors a number of
free or reduced price events for its membership throughout
the year. These include the annual luncheon and business meeting,
an annual trip to Fenway Park, and BU hockey and basketball
games

Lunch/Learn
Seminar Series
The April Lunch/Learn speaker will be Virginia Sapiro, Dean,
College of Arts and Science. Her talk is titled "A New
Dean's Vision for CAS." Dean Sapiro comes to BU from
the University of Wisconsin - Madison, where she served as
chair of the Department of Political Science from 1993-96.
In 1995, she was named the Sophonisba P. Breckinridge Professor.
Dean Sapiro's research and teaching interests include political
psychology and political behavior, gender politics, American
political development, democratic theory, and the design and
philosophy of social science research. Her 1992 book A Vindication
of Political Virtue: The Political Theory of Mary Wollstonecraft
won the American Political Science Association's Victoria
Schuck Award for best book on women and politics.

and place: 12 noon - 2:00 pm, Wednesday April 23, 2008, Top
Floor, 10 Buick Street.
This event is open to all BU retired faculty and staff and
guests. The registration fee is $13 per person, which includes
parking and a box lunch. To register, please print and fill
out the form
and send it with a check payable to Boston University for
