International employees face unique challenges and requirements when beginning a job in the U.S. This workshop is designed for administrators involved in hiring international employees (new faculty, researchers or staff) and will focus on how to utilize campus resources to set up the new employee correctly. The session will highlight special considerations in hiring, sponsoring, and paying nonimmigrant workers and will review the roles of key BU offices involved in the hiring and sponsorship of foreign nationals. Immigration and labor law compliance considerations and key institutional forms, timelines and procedures will be reviewed.
