Giving

One of the first law schools in the Boston area, BU Law ranks #21 in U.S. News & World Report, and consistently enrolls well-rounded students with outstanding undergraduate grades and LSAT scores.  Students are academically challenged by a rigorous curriculum and a wide range of courses in a highly supportive learning environment.

Our professors consistently rank among the elite faculty in the nation.  The latest Princeton Review's Best 170 Law Schools ranked BU LAW’s faculty first in the nation ("Professors Rock") —ahead of all of our local competition!  BU Law professors were praised for their accessibility and their ability to teach fun, interesting and original classes.

As you can imagine, attracting and retaining professors of the highest quality is not easy.  BU Law has a clear advantage because of its academic reputation, high-quality students, location in the heart of Boston and prestige.  But with other top schools often recruiting the same faculty candidates and courting our current faculty, we must stay ahead of the compensation-and-benefits curve—and that requires resources.

Through your generous donations, overall alumni support increased dramatically in 2006—by more than 70%. Moreover, the number of overall donors increased by 12%, the first growth of this size in more than twenty years.

More than 60% of the Class of 2006 took part in supporting the BU Law Fund with gifts earmarked for the Loan Repayment Assistance Program. They built upon the Class Gift program pioneered by the Class of 2005.

In addition to providing unrestricted annual support to BU Law Fund, we invite you to create a scholarship or an academic student achievement award. Our development staff is happy to discuss the most beneficial giving arrangement and convenient method for you, be it outright cash, credit, securities, real estate, estate/planned giving or other assets.

If you have not yet made a donation, we encourage you to join your friends and classmates in supporting BU Law. Your annual support makes it possible for future generations of lawyers to experience the benefits of the finest teaching faculty in the nation. You may make a pledge or gift:
