The Silver Shingle Alumni Awards
Boston University School of Law is honored each year to present its outstanding alumni and friends with Silver Shingle Alumni Awards. These awards, a tradition at the School of Law since 1967, are presented in recognition of notable contributions to the legal profession, leadership within the community, unfailing service to the School of Law, and superlative contributions to society.
Each year Law School Alumni Association members are asked to nominate outstanding individuals for their contributions. The award descriptions are:
- Distinguished Professional Service
This award is presented to the alumna/us whose contributions within her/his profession exemplify leadership, ethics, and integrity, and whose accomplishments reflect great credit upon their profession.
2008 Silver Shingle Awards Recipients - Distinguished Public Service
This award is presented to the alumna/us who has made a significant contribution to her/his community either through a volunteer or appointed position.
2008 Silver Shingle Awards Recipients - Distinguished Service To The School of Law
This award is presented to the alumna/us whose participation in the affairs of the School of Law exemplifies the thoughtful concern of the graduate through continuing support of legal education at Boston University.
2008 Silver Shingle Awards Recipients - Young Lawyer's Chair
This award is presented to the alumna/us whose performance and commitment, in ten years or less since graduation, reflects great credit upon the School of Law.
2008 Young Lawyer's Chair Recipient - Gerard H. Cohen Award
The School is also privileged each year to honor an outstanding member of its administrative staff with the Gerard H. Cohen Award.
