  • Come to our final final faculty brown bag lunch talk on Monday, Nov. 16 at 1 p.m. in Barristers Hall. It will feature BU Law Professor Jay Wexler. Professor Wexler will discuss his book, Holy Hullabaloos: A Road Trip to the Battlegrounds of the Church/State Wars, which analyzes church/state law through the retelling of various road trips that Prof. Wexler took to places where important Supreme Court cases originated. He is a lively speaker so this will be fun!
  • Another 1L Outling and Exam Program-Join Dean Marx and Professor Volk for a program on outlining and strategies for law school exams on Wednesday, Nov. 18, 4 pm, Law Auditorium. Dean Marx also will explain the exam and grading processes.
  • Take part in workshops offered by the BU Behavioral Medicine Clinic (881 Commonwealth Ave., 617/353-3569) on time and stress management; mindful relaxation, and cognitive behavioral skills
  • Our last walk with faculty and administrators this semester is with Dean O'Rourke and CDO Associate Director Sabrina Halloran on Friday, Nov. 13. meet 12:30 in the lobby (walk is about 40 minutes). Stay tuned for our walking schedule next semster!
  • If you did not receive an email and memo from Dean Marx about taking exams on your laptop, please contact her right away as the deadline for downloading and registering the software for fall 2009 exams is November 20. NOTE that all students who have conforming laptops and who want to use them for fall exams must download and register the software by Nov. 20 even if you did so last academic year, as our license only runs for a given academic year!!

General Information

The Student Affairs Office ensures that students have the dynamic, academically challenging and supportive environment needed for law school success. The Office is the center of many advising and support activities, providing academic information, counseling resources and personal guidance to BU Law students.

Services and programs include:

The Office also oversees the administration of many of BU Law's policies and procedures, including degree requirements and academic standards; works closely with student organizations; coordinates extracurricular activities such as Student Appreciation days and workshops on topics like stress-management, achieving work/family balance, and the "Live Well, Learn Well" exercise and nutrition initiative; and fosters interaction between students and faculty. As part of the Live Well, Learn Well Program, the Office organizes weekly walks with faculty, staff, and students during the warmer months.
