Homer Albers Prize Moot Court Competition 2008
The Homer Albers Prize Moot Court Competition is an invitational competition open to the top sixteen Stone participants. Students work in teams of two and advance in the Competition by team, not by individual performance. After two preliminary rounds, teams advance to a quarter final elimination round where they argue before panels composed of BU Law professors. The top four teams then advance to the semifinal round, where they argue before panels composed of judges.
The winning teams from the semifinal round advance to the final round. The final round argument is held before a panel consisting of three judges from the United States Circuit Courts of Appeals. Final arguments for the Albers Competition have been held before such respected jurists as Chief Justice William Rehnquist and Associate Justices Antonin Scalia, Byron R. White, Stephen Breyer, Ruth Bader Ginsburg and David Souter.
