Recruiting Programs

Domestic LL.M. students who are enrolled in a full-time program are eligible to participate in several formal recruitment programs (on-campus, off-campus and specialty job fairs) which occur during the fall and spring semesters of each academic year. These programs bring employers and second- and third-year students (and in some cases, Domestic LL.M. students) together and afford employers the opportunity to interview several candidates in one day. Domestic LL.M. students are eligible to participate if employers request resumes from third-year students and/or Domestic LL.M. students.

Besides formal recruitment programs, every year several employers express an interest in interviewing LL.M. students on-campus for various openings that become available. Students are informed of such opportunities directly from the LL.M. career advisor. Eemployers who have interviewed our LL.M. students on campus outside of the formal recruitment programs include:

  • Allen & Overy
  • PricewaterhouseCoopers
  • Ernst & Young
  • KPMG
  • Linklaters

Additionally, BU Law foreign-trained LL.M. students participate in the annual International Students Interview Program (ISIP) held each January in New York. Finally, a significant portion of LL.M. students are hired via resume collections, which take place throughout the year. Students are informed of resume collection opportunities directly via targeted e-mails from the LL.M. career advisor.

Tax LL.M. students are eligible to participate in the Tax Attorney Recruiting Event (TARE), held every year in February in Washington, D.C. The event invites tax employers nationwide to participate and is held in consortium with the University of Florida Levin College of Law and Northwestern University School of Law.
