Litigation and Dispute Resolution

Alumni Spotlight: David A. Friedman ('77); Alumnus Successfully Argues for Historic Ruling in Ten Commandments Case

In this concentration, you'll gain practical legal experience through both the study of theory and "black-letter" law in the classroom. The concentration capitalizes on the highly regarded teaching and curricular strengths of our clinical programs, which allow you to represent real clients in real cases or to work in field placements with local lawyers and judges.

Another key component of the concentration is the field of Alternative Dispute Resolution. Crowded court dockets and the high cost of litigation inspire many disputants to seek alternative ways to resolve conflicts, such as arbitration and mediation.
