Directional Hints:
PPI data comes in two different forms: by industry and by commodity. You'll likely need to determine in which category your information is located.
1. To see the list of industries covered on the PPI homepage:
Go to Get Detailed PPI Statistics, scroll down to Industry Data, which is below Flat Files. Then scan the files until you locate - "pc. product" which you'll open to see if the product you are looking for is on the industry list. Write down the associated ppi code. (If you do not locate your item try the commodity list.)
3. To get producer price data then (with the ppi code) go to Create Custom Tables, Industry Data-
either one screen (simpler) or multiple screen.

2. To see the list of commodities covered:
Go the Get Detailed PPI Statistics, scroll down to Flat Files, then below that Commodity Data. Then scan the files until you find "wp.item" which includes the codes and names of the commodities to get the ppi code. 3. To get producer price data then (with the ppi code) go to Create Custom Tables, Commodity Data- either one screen (simpler) or multiple screen.
