Consortia in the Local Area

Boston Library Consortium (BLC). You may apply online for a BLC card which entitles you to borrow, in person, from another BLC collection. The BLC's Virtual Catalog (VC) an efficient way to locate an item currently not available at Boston University, verify availability at a partner institution, and request delivery.

The Minuteman Library Network catalog allows you to search across one or many local public library collections and place online requests for items not available at your home library. Public library collections are a fine resource for readily loanable audio and video titles, both core and unusual print content, and offer a variety of databases as well. See also the Massachusetts Regional Library Networks.

Instruction

Schedule an orientation or support for courses, thesis writers, and research projects with Holly Mockovak or Sarah P. Hunter (617-353-3705).

Photocopy

Copy cards may be purchased from the vending machines just outside the Photocopy Office (617-353-3722) on the first floor of Mugar Library.

Recordings

Recordings are intended for onsite use in the listening room or library classrooms, so bring some authorization from a faculty member for those occasions when you need to bring a recording to class in another building.

Reserves

On-site listening and access to reserves scores and readings follow listening room hours.  The library's online catalog shows the status of library items on reserve.  Your listening may also be streaming from within a CourseInfo site, as well, if your instructor has chosen to develop this option.

Thesis Writers

See: Research Guide for Writers of Theses and Dissertations for submission requirements; prepared by thesis coordinator Brendan McDermott.
