1.  Logistics of work environment: online access, printers, photocopy, off-site scanners; other listening and video workstations; the collection in open stacks, closed stacks, and online; areas for re-shelving

2.  Periodicals: where are music's currently received subscriptions, where are the back issues, where are non-music periodicals; how to determine if a periodical is available full text, on line

3.  Catalog locations for the Music Library: where are Open Reserve and Class Reserve, Music Reference; review stack arrangements and interpretation of location/call number/status for an items found in the online catalog; how to request an Inquire at Music Library item; what to do if the status or location indicates Storage; special locations such as pamphlets, BSO notes, the Fiedler collection

4. Managing your circulation account; tips for catalog search and display of scores, recordings, course reserves; how to place staff-assisted requests

5. Library web pages introduced; locate key print and electronic index and reference titles; learn about WorldCat and how it relates to Innopac (the online catalog) and the Virtual Catalog of the Boston Library Consortium.

6.  Learn what to do next when you're looking for some item(s) or other information but you feel you're not getting the results you'd like; learn what to do if something you go to the shelf for isn't right there; use of the Virtual catalog and Interlibrary loan services
