In conjunction with the College of Arts & Sciences, the Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Pre-Medical Studies permits those with bachelor’s degrees to pursue the course requirements for admissions to medical school and other health career programs. Students are required to have a minimum 3.3 undergraduate grade point average for admission to this program.
To receive the Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Pre-Medical Studies, students must take at least 32 of the following 40 credits in the pre-medical course sequence at Boston University:
Calculus
- CAS MA 121 and CAS MA 122 Calculus for the Life and Social Sciences or MET MA 123 Calculus I, MET MA 124 Calculus II
Physics
- MET PY 105, 106 Elementary Physics
General Chemistry
- MET CH 101 General Chemistry I, MET CH 102 General Chemistry II
Organic Chemistry
- MET CH 203, 204 Organic Chemistry
Biology
- MET BI 107 Biology I, MET BI 108 Biology II

Certificate students are eligible for assistance and letters of recommendation from the Pre-Medical Advising Office in the College of Arts & Sciences.
Classes start three times per year—Fall, Spring, and Summer.
Applications are reviewed on a rolling admissions basis.

2. Official transcripts from all colleges and universities applicant
has
attended.
3. Two letters of recommendation, at least one of which is from a
faculty
member.
4. Personal statement from applicant regarding applicant’s desire
to pursue a career in medicine.
