On Friday May 23, 2008, Metropolitan College hosted the Project Management in Practice Conference featuring William Moylan as the keynote speaker. Dr. Moylan is a professional project management practitioner specializing in consulting, training, educating, research, and providing expert witness testimony.
In addition to the full-day Conference, a PMP Prep Session was held on Thursday May 22.

Dr. Ian Lane Davis on Artificial Intelligence
in Video Games.
On Wednesday, November 28, MET welcomed Dr.
Ian Lane Davis, CEO and founder of Mad
Doc® Software, for a presentation on Artificial Intelligence
in Video Games.
Widely acknowledged to be one of the video game industry's top experts
on artificial intelligence, Dr. Davis earned his doctorate in AI and
Robotics from Carnegie Mellon University. He founded Mad Doc®
in 1999. Since then, the company has become a major innovative force
in the gaming industry, responsible for over 10 million units in the
game market worldwide. Among his many achievements, Dr. Davis is editor-in-chief
of the Journal of Game Development and a guest lecturer at
MIT. He has been instrumental in the design, development, and launch
of Metropolitan College’s new Graduate Certificate in Interactive
Multimedia and Game Engineering, and also teaches in the program.
Dr. Davis' game credits include: Empire Earth® II (a PC Gamer Editor's Choice award winner); Dungeon Siege®:
Legends of Aranna™ (an Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences Computer Role-Playing Game of the Year finalist); Empire
Earth: The Art of Conquest™; and Star Trek®: Armada II™, among many others.
