Commonwealth Avenue Project Update - Travel Restrictions by Marsh Plaza

Effective Monday, September 15, crews will be working on the outbound side of Commonwealth Avenue in front of Marsh Chapel, installing brick and granite crosswalks.  Expect lane restrictions and traffic delays for the next (3) weeks depending on the weather. Use caution when in the area.  Police detail will be directing vehicle and pedestrian traffic.

2008/09 Parking Permits – Online Sales & Renewals Open at Noon on Monday, August 4, 2008

The online sale of 2008/09 parking permits will begin at noon on Monday, August 4, 2008 via the Employee Link.

Remember that all active 2007/08 parking permits expire on August 31, 2008 and valid 2008/09 parking permits must be displayed in all vehicles parked on Charles River Campus after that date.

Although we strongly encourage you to apply via the Employee Link, you may also apply for your new 2008/09 parking permit in person at the Parking & Transportation Services office, which is located on the second floor of the George Sherman Union, 775 Commonwealth Avenue. 

While our regular office hours from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, they will remain open from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. throughout the Labor Day weekend for your convenience (August 30 – September 1, 2008).

Upper Deck, 25 Buick Street — Parking Restriction

Be advised that the Upper Deck of the 25 Buick Street garage is closed and will remain closed until further notice.

Bay State Road (University Road to Commonwealth Avenue) – Parking Restrictions

D’Allessandro Corporation is completing water main relay work for the Boston Water and Sewer Commission (BWSC).  Work zones will be established along Bay State Road between University Road and its junction with Commonwealth Avenue and vehicular traffic will be affected at times.

During the project, work will be primarily completed between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

“NO PARKING” will be allowed within the posted work zones during the aforementioned hours throughout the extended project.

VEHICLES PARKED IN POSTED AREAS WILL BE TOWED.

Beginning Friday, September 05, 2008

George Hart Way (Back Street) will be closed until next Wednesday, September 10, while two fire hydrants behind the Law School and Mugar Library are replaced. Access to shipping and receiving will remain accessible while the work is completed.

Beginning Wednesday, September 10, 2008

Starting on Wednesday, September 10, University Road will be closed at the Storrow Drive entrance to accommodate a water main work improvement project.  The work will occur between the hours of 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. and will take approximately one week to complete. The entrance onto Storrow Drive from University Road will remain accessible but alternate routes should be strongly considered.  A Police detail will be in the area.  Expect major delays.
