Walter Hopp joined the department in 2005 after receiving his B.A. from Colorado State University and his Ph.D. from the University of Southern California. His areas of interest include Epistemology, Phenomenology, Early Modern Philosophy, and Metaphysics, especially the issue of realism. He is currently working on Husserl’s theory of knowledge or “fulfillment,” examining the nature of nonconceptual mental content, and attempting to spell out how it contributes to the epistemic status of beliefs. He has taught courses in Phenomenology, Existentialism, Epistemology, and British Empiricism.
