All the (television) news fit to view
01/30/2009
The Vanderbilt Television News Archive is a unique source for locating news broadcasts. The core of this collection consists of regularly scheduled newscasts from ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN and Fox News. The B.U. institutional subscription (limited to students, faculty and staff from the Charles River Campus) provides streaming video access to thousands of hours of newscasts from NBC (August 5, 1968-present) and CNN (1995-present). Recent material is not available until at least 72 hours after the original broadcast.
If you are searching for newscasts other than NBC or CNN, the database will only display story abstracts (due to copyright limitations). However, it is possible to request complete programs or compilations of selected newscasts to be copied onto videotape. Please keep in mind that Vanderbilt charges fees for this service.
