University Council

The Boston University Council meets twice per semester to consider and recommend action on any matter that is of common concern to faculty and administrators and that affects two or more Schools and Colleges of the University.

The Council considers and recommends action, or may act, as appropriate, on such matters as may be referred to it by the President, the Faculty Council, or the Council of Deans.

The Council of Deans meets monthly to discuss issues and policies which affect the administrative and academic operations of the University's Schools and Colleges.

Faculty Assembly

The Faculty Assembly speaks for the faculty on matters of importance to the University and considers and acts, or recommends action, as appropriate, on all matters affecting the academic and professional concerns of the faculty of two or more Schools or Colleges of the University.

Undergraduate Academic Council

The Undergraduate Academic Council meets twice per semester to consider matters that affect the quality of the undergraduate experience at Boston University.

Its membership is set by the Provost, and normally includes the associate and assistant deans of the Schools and Colleges with undergraduate programs.

Graduate Academic Council

The Graduate Academic Council meets twice per semester to consider matters that affect the quality of the graduate experience at Boston University.

Its membership is set by the Provost, and normally includes the associate and assistant deans of the Schools and Colleges with graduate programs, as well as representatives from key University administrative offices.
