Bjöern Reinhard, Assistant Professor
Chemistry
Born and raised in Germany, Bjöern got his Diploma from the Technical University of Munich and his Ph.D. from the Technical University of Kaiserslautern. He then moved to the University of California at Berkeley, where he worked with Jan Liphardt (Biophysics) and Paul Alivisatos (Materials Science). Bjöern is interested in the design, implementation, and characterization of new tools for imaging and manipulation of “hard” (inorganic) and “soft” (biological) materials.
Larry Epstein, Professor
Economics
Larry Epstein received his Ph.D. in economics from the University of British Columbia in 1977. He has been a University Professor at the University of Toronto and the Elmer B. Milliman Professor of Economics at the University of Rochester. His research is focussed on the theory of decision making and on its applications to macroeconomics and finance. He has published articles in Econometrica, Review of Economic Studies, Journal of Economic Theory and the Journal of Political Economy.
Leena Rudanko, Assistant Professor
Economics
Leena Rudanko received her PhD in economics from the University of Chicago in 2007. She also holds a MSc in technology from the Helsinki University of Technology and a LicSocSc in economics from the University of Helsinki. Her research interests lie in macroeconomics, especially applications of search theory and dynamic contracting.
