Research Administration

Boston University Sargent College actively encourages and supports its faculty and students to pursue external funding sources for Research and Training Activities. The College believes that external funding provides unique opportunities to build upon and expand the college's mission.

From July 1, 2008 to March 31, 2009, BU Sargent College submitted 38 applications for funding. The total funds received from these awards for the College was $5,294,317.

In addition to the University's centralized resources, the college has dedicated a full time research administrator to assist faculty research with all aspects of the grant related process from pre-application concerns to post award administration. Please feel free to contact Jean Daley, the College's Research Administrator, with any questions at (617) 353-2711.

Application For Support of Research Project

The Dudley Allen Sargent Research Fund (DASRF) was initiated in 1966 by the Class of 1921, both as a memorial and tribute to the founder of BU Sargent College. The fund is supported by contributions from alumni and friends of the College as well as from the indirect funds generated by sponsored research conducted by faculty of BU Sargent College. The purpose of the fund is to give financial assistance to BU Sargent College students and faculty involved in various areas of research when lack of such assistance may result in the dilution of the project or its delayed completion. To accomplish the goals of this program, the DASRF will solicit and review research applications in two separate programs: A Doctoral Student Competition, and a Faculty/Post-Doctoral Pilot Study Competition.
