Patient | Connect is a secure web portal through which Boston University students can access their electronic health record to:

  • update their local contact information,
  • send secure messages to a provider at Student Health Services,
  • contact the Aetna Student Health referral coordinator,
  • request a prescription refill, and
  • review your account activity (including reviewing and printing walkout statements).

Patient | Connect is intended to facilitate your access to Student Health Services. If you need additional assistance, please exit the portal and call Student Health at 617-353-3575.

Secure Messaging

As part of an ongoing effort to improve services at the Student Health Services, we have begun using secure messaging in order to provide a confidential and convenient method of communication regarding your health care. Secure messaging may be used by providers to provide general information, lab results or follow-up instructions. If you are sent a secure message, notification will be sent to your Boston University email address. Follow these steps to access your secure message:

  1. Click the link to log onto your Patient | Connect home page.
  2. Log onto Patient | Connect with your BU ID and Kerberos password.
  3. Click GO TO MESSAGES.
  4. The secure messages you have received will appear in your Secure Messages Inbox. Click READ IT to view one of the messages.

To send a message:

  1. Click NEW MESSAGE
  2. Select the type of message you would like to send
  3. Click CONTINUE
  4. Follow the instruction on the screen


Local Address and Phone Number

To edit your local contact information:

  1. Click PROFILE
  2. Click EDIT next to local phone number or address
  3. Enter the new information
  4. Click CONTINUE


View/Print Walkout Statements

To view your account activity or print walkout statements:

  1. Click ACCOUNT SUMMARY
  2. Click VIEW/PRINT for the visit date you would like to access
