Sexual Health
Condoms
Condoms are available at Student Health Services in the waiting area. The waiting room condoms are free and students should help themselves to a handful. If you'd like to get a larger quantity of condoms, we have developed a discreet way of buying condoms. Print out this "condom coupon." Fill in the information and bring the coupon to SHS. Hand the coupon to a front desk associate and have a seat. The front desk associate will pack up 20 condoms in a brown bag and call you back up to the front to complete your purchase discreetly. The 20 condoms will cost only $5!
Sexually Transmitted Diseases
Boston University Student Health Services offers testing for all sexually transmitted infections, including HIV. For students with the Aetna Student Health insurance, the cost of these tests is generally covered by the plan. For students with other insurance, the cost of the tests will be billed by our reference lab to your health insurance or directly to you. Starting in 2008, we began offering the rapid HIV test at SHS. The test takes about 20 minutes and is done from a drop of blood from your finger. The cost of this test is $65. The tests are performed Wednesdays and Thursdays from 1-4:30pm.
