Long-term (5-10 year) goals and strategies
Increased diversity of faculty and students
Major goals are to:
- Increase our capacity to recruit, enroll, and retain a diverse student body
- Increase our capacity to recruit, hire, and retain diverse faculty members
Again, these goals are partly addressed through strategies and initiatives identified earlier. Important additional strategies to achieve these goals are to:
- Expand financial supports to recruit excellent students from diverse backgrounds.
- Identify and solicit potential donors to endow scholarships for students of color.
- Obtain funding to support student internship stipends in settings that serve diverse clients and are appealing to donors and/or foundations that fund special projects.
- Hire and retain a strong and diverse faculty by compensating all faculty members commensurate with competing schools.
- Gather data on pay levels at peer SW schools.
- Improve salaries to enable SSW to compete well for top national scholars
