Welcome Class of 2011! We look forward to getting to know you. Please review the following information which will assist you in preparing to enter the MSW program.
Important Dates
All incoming students are expected to attend Pre-orientation and Orientation. A one-day orientation session helps to orient you to BUSSW.
Orientation For All MSW Students
- Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at Boston University, Charles River Campus in Boston
- Location: George Sherman Union, Metcalf Hall, second floor, 775 Commonwealth Avenue
- Schedule: 8:30 am - 4:30 pm TENTATIVE
- What to bring: Driver's License and Early Bird ID

Summer Reading Requirement
In response to the needs of diverse populations and in recognition of the role of race and ethnicity in meeting human needs, the School if requiring incoming students to read The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down by Anne Fadiman. The book will be discussed during Orientation and woven through the first semester curriculum. This book can be purchased through most book vendors.
