Important Dates
All incoming students are expected to attend Orientation. A one-day orientation session helps to orient you to BUSSW.
Orientation For All MSW Students
- Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at Boston University, Charles River campus in Boston
- Location: George Sherman Union Building at 775 Commonwealth Avenue
- Schedule: 8:30AM - 4:30PM
- What to bring: Driver's License and Early Bird ID
- Parking: Lot K (Warren Towers Garage at 700 Commonwealth Avenue) and Lot N (Granby Street Lot at 665 Commonwealth Avenue) / [directions]

Summer Reading Requirement
In response to the needs of diverse populations and in recognition of the role of race and ethnicity in meeting human needs, the School is requiring incoming students to read The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down by Anne Fadiman. The book will be discussed during Orientation and woven through the first semester curriculum. This book can be purchased through most book vendors.
