The Boston University School of Social Work Career Services are designed to provide students and alumni with useful information to secure social work employment, whether for the summer, upon obtaining your MSW, or as you look for a job change later in your career. Posted is information including: A Guide to Social Work Job Hunting, a link to the BU Career Services, social work licensing links, job links, and employment, fellowship, and post graduate international opportunities.
The SSW Career Center is located at 264 Bay State Road, Boston, MA 02215 in Room 115. The Center houses a computer you can use as well as licensing exam practice guides that you can utilize but not remove from the Center.
The key is available from Student Services (SSW 117A-C) Monday 8 AM to 4PM, Tuesday through Thursday 8AM to 6PM. and Friday 8AM to 4PM. You are encouraged to call or e-mail to arrange a time to use the Center: 617-353-3761.
The School has its own Boston University Career Counselor who provides career counseling for current students and alumni. One-hour appointments are free for SSW students and alumni who have graduated within a year. Fifteen minute, first-come first-serve Walk-in-Services are also free: Monday through Friday - 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Alumni who have graduated over a year ago pay $25 per hour for Career Counseling.
