Computing, E-mail and Computer Recommendations
Look for e-mails in May that will explain how to get an early computing account at Boston University. This early account will have to be re-established in September when you get your BU ID card.
Computer Recommendations
SSW IT recommends the following:
- Purchase a laptop with Windows XP or newer installed (your Research II course will use software which runs only on Windows).
- Purchase a USB flash drive which will make it easy for your to transport files.
- MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint). Purchase this and other software from University Computers for a substantial savings with Academic Pricing.
Please note, if you are a Mac user, when you reach Research II, you will either need to use a school computer or purchase a windows emulation software in order to run SPSS (the Statistical Analysis software used for the course).
