Professional Education Programs
Mission
Professional Education Programs at Boston University School of Social Work takes pride in offering relevant, stimulating educational opportunities for professional social workers and other human service providers throughout New England. Our programs reflect recognition of the complex challenges that professionals face in their commitment to bring change in the lives of their clients and in the systems and communities on which these clients depend.
Our mission is to offer high quality continuing education programs with a focus on useful integration of the most current, effective methods of practice; theoretically based skill development; application of new areas of research; and advancement of critical thinking. Instructors are guided by values historically central to the social work profession, including a belief in the transformative power of relational communities, the importance of actively promoting social justice, and a commitment to using practice strategies that build on the significant strengths our clients possess.
