Application materials will be available beginning December 15. We will begin accepting applications at that time.
Students
must be entering their senior year of high school in fall 2009
to apply for the High School Honors Program. Admission is based
on a combination of high school grades, courses taken, class rank,
standardized test scores, personal statement, and letters of recommendation.
Research Internship placements are also based on space availability.

Online submission of application requires two steps:
- Submit
completed application electronically (download here December 15; also available in our brochure)
- Mail or fax your transcript, recommendations forms, personal
statement, research statement (for Research Internship applicants
only), and application fee. Application fees can be paid
by credit
card or by check made payable to Boston University.
To apply for the High School Honors Program, please submit the
application online or mail the following items to:

- A completed application
(if not submitted online)
- A one-page, single-spaced personal statement. Share a story
that illustrates your individuality or something you are passionate
about.
- Research Internship applicants must also submit a one-paragraph
statement on their area of research interest (selected from
astronomy, biology, chemistry, engineering, medicine, physics,
or psychology) that addresses their background in the area and
the reason for their interest. International students are not
eligible for the Research Internship track.
- An official copy of your high school transcript, including
your fall 2008 grades.
- A copy of your most recent PSAT, SAT, or ACT scores. If you
have not yet taken these tests, please explain why in your application.
- Two letters
of recommendation (one from an academic teacher and one
from a guidance counselor). Research Internship applicants'
teacher letters must be from either a math or science teacher.
- A non-refundable application fee. Make checks payable
to Boston University.
International students must complete and include additional forms
with their application.
Students applying for Financial Aid
- A letter describing your general financial situation and the
particular circumstances that prevent you from paying the full
cost
- Pages 1 and 2 of your parents 2008 Federal Income Tax Form
