High School Honors ProgramGeneral HonorsThe General Honors program invites motivated high school students to experience undergraduate life, both socially and academically. General Honors students have the opportunity to enroll in challenging courses in topics, fields, and disciplines not typically available in high school classrooms—such as medical anthropology, environmental ethics, or the history of photography. General Honors is also a great way to get ahead by earning college credit. “The program gives you a real taste of college life. I made many very good friends.”
Outside of class, General Honors students enjoy a vibrant community of peers on campus as they participate in group activities and explore the city of Boston—whether they live on-campus or choose to commute from home. By completing two summer academic courses of their choice, General Honors students can earn up to eight Boston University credits. As credit-earning students, they take classes alongside Boston University undergraduates. Students receive guidance when selecting courses to help identify subject areas that will provide an appropriate challenge while also earning credits that are applicable to future college work. The Insiders' Guide to General Honors at BUMark your calendar: Course descriptions, application details, and important dates for the 2009 High School Honors Program will be available on December 15.
