productions contribute to understanding the social, cultural, and political

Emphasizes the presidential campaign of Hillary Clinton. Readings,
discussion, and field research on issues of women’s relationship to the
processes of political leadership, change, and empowerment. Analysis of public

A survey of the law's treatment of women, emphasizing constitutional
law, family law, employment discrimination, and reproductive rights and technologies.
Includes historical-sociological analyses of the evolution of laws affecting
women and evaluates the impact of these laws. 4 cr.

Study of primarily American films, exploring how the medium has shaped and been shaped by cultural perceptions of women. Readings provide background for interpretation of films ranging from screwball comedy to film noir, "women's films," and films by women directors. 4 cr.
