This renewed emphasis on bike accessibility is really encouraging, and it is a good priority to make the area around the BU bridge safer. However, I feel it is worth nothing that a generous measurement of the Comm Ave bike lane, via Gmaps, puts it at less than 3/4 mile: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&saddr=42.348994,-71.096649&daddr=Commonw... Although this is a huge asset to the community, referring to BU's "mile long" bike lane makes me uncomfortable.
